The environment surrounding the textile industry in Ishikawa prefecture
is severe situation, because Japanese makers of synthetic fiber have shifted
the production factories into China and other Asian nations, and textile
imports of them increase rapidly. Therefore, it is necessary to develop
textiles with high added value regarding end-product application and new
field. The study group was launched by Industrial Research Institute of
Ishikawa and textile companies which have been active in product development
of new textile. As a result, Shigure fabric with crape macula and Bed
sheet made of ambari fiber were developed, and they earned reputations
as the products that would be useful for promotion of the technique transfer
to the textile industry of Ishikawa.
