Development of New Products by Using the
Useful Ingredient of
Thujopsis Dolabrata Var.hindai Makino, Noto-Hiba
−Practical Use of the Remnants of Ate, the Wood of Ishikawa Prefecture,
in the Forest and Lumber mill−

Noto-Hiba contains the useful ingredient, Hiba-oil. But in the course
of the cutting down and lumbering, a lot of wood tips is discharged and
most of these wood tips is dumped or burned, the natural resource is not
used practically. So Industrial Research Institute of Ishikawa and Ishikawa
Forest Experiment Station in a joint research collaboration studied about
this possibility. We extracted Hiba-oil from wood tips, examined practical
use of Hiba-oil which had antibacterial activity and aromatic facility,
and developed new products by using the microcapsule of Hiba-oil. As the
result,

We could establish the method extracting Hiba-oil
from the remnants in the forest and lumber mill. |

We could develop the paper products and the flatworks
by using the microcapsule of Hiba-oil. |

In cooperation research we could study on the
development of the new products with consistent process. |
