We developed a bone densitometer in co-operation with
a medical instrument company in Ishikawa. In order to cut down the development
time, the 3D CG (Computer Graphics) system, 3D CAD system, and the stereolithography
system were used with moderate success. The results we obtained are as follows.
(1) The design of the densitorometer rationalized that we could simulated a design
form and assembly by using the 3D CG system and 3D CAD system.
(2) Using the stereolithography system, we were able to rapid prototype a life
models, which then able to evaluate the userability of product.
(3) The three systems reduced the development time of a design, modeling, and
improve a design.
